Why can't people do homework (that takes 20 minutes) over spring break but can find a way to waste hours and hours and hours doing nothing complaining that they have nothing to do? (100 words if you did your assignment, 300 words if you didn't).

People can not do homework that takes about 20 minutes because maybe in their mind they believe they can' t do anything right; in other words, they are negative. Maybe they are depressed or either are verly lazy or very unresponsible. The students who feel useless, give up and don't try because they feel that they do everything wrong. The students that are lazy and unresponsible, don't pay attention to class and don't know what the assigned homework was; so they don't do it. Procrasinators in the other hand wait till the last minute to do their homework; and sometimes don't have enough time so they don't do it because they leave it for last and they thought it was easy and end up not doing it. However, some students do need empowerment to do their homework and other are just lazy to do their work and don't bother doing it.

The Ship of Theseus

Prompt : You have been given the ship of the Greek hero Theseus. Now, since it is almost 3,000 years since he set sail, the boat (made of wood) has a lot of it has rotten. You replace the rotten wood with good wood and restore the boat just to the way it was when Theseus was around. A few years later, your children and grandchildren also help you out. By the end of this process, your grandchild, John notices that all the wood that was originally on the boat has been replaced.

Is this ship still the ship of Theseus?



- I don't think this is consider to be the ship of Theseus anymore because all the wood has been replaced by some other person. The ship of Theseus would have to be originally from him, not designed by him. By replacing the wood  I am using his design, but re-modifying it, so I would have to get some credit and I don't think that would be called the ship of Theseus anymore; but instead it would be called the ship of Theseus and Claudia. For example,(back in history) when some scientists discovered a discovery and then another scientist re-modify it by changing something or adding to it they decided to call it something else. ( I forgot what discovery was it but I remember that has happened) However, the ship of Theseus has to be made by Theseus and not be the "same" one and just replace the wood because that is not the original wood by Theseus. Some people might say that this is the ship of Theseus because it is his design, but I believe in originality and the hard work that he took to create his own ship; moreover, if the person creates his ship with his design a then, it can be called Theseus ship but it is not consider his ship. The person who modified it would have to take credit, for example, it would be called Theseus ship by blank. The original piece can never be compared to the remade one because the first piece is created with imagination, built with determinization while the reamke is just taking credit for someone else's hard work. Who knows maybe they were payed to replace the wood and did it for the money, not for a good cause like Theseus did.

-It was dark and gloomy.But it really wasn't; it was quite bright and cheerful and a new day to start to run again. My day had ended bad yesterday because i had an argument wioth my parents, but today was going to be different. I started my day waking up to the smell of my moms delcicious cooked meals. I love food! I took a cold realxing shower in the sunny day to refresh myself and be clean. My mom cooked me my favorite breakfast: chilakiles. yumm!. I put alot of cheese in it and i love to add queso fresco because it creates the best taste ever! Then i made my daily delicious green tea. Later, I went for a run, because i havent ran in forever; ive been under my books all week long amounting with stress. The run helped me clear things out of my mind and relieve that amounting stress i was carrying in my aching back. But now there was no pain. I felt happy because it was my day of and i didnt have to worrry about anything else than myself for one day. I decided to watch a ghibli studio movie bymylself, because i love japanese anime. I watche a movie called the cat returns wich is kind of a follow up for whisper to the heart movie. I love their movies, theyre so different from the ones they create here; and they actually have an imagination. As the day was passing by, i decided to draw some cartoon characters and i tried drawing cartoon characters from Howls a moving castle and characters from Kikis delivery service as well. I was becoming bored so i began to watch Dragon Ball Z episodes! yess my favorite!And guess what it was time to eat again. Awesome! My mom made sopes and i ate four.I was thinling of doing my homework but then i told  myself nahh it's my day off. So wat id id was paint my nails. Its been long since i havent painted my nails. Before i would go all crazy and make awesome designs and even hand made flowers, not like those kind people buy in the store and just stick them on. I painted my nails black and i did watever on my designs. Later i decide that it was time to dosomething new. So i went to the store and i bought nutella and i made homemade french crepes, they turned out to be delicious! One day i will go to Paris and live there forever. But untill that day i have to keep on going with my life.  Later in i went to socialize with my friends( which i havent seen forever because of all the books i carry) and we talked about what we are going through. My friend Melanie came down from UCSB for the weekend and was really exciting to see her, she looked great, most importantly she looked older. Wow, i was amazed. Then i went home and i slept for hours! yess hours, finally, peace.

People used to buy everything at Brick-and-Mortar stores (meaning they bought things in person at an actual store). Over the last twenty years, online stores have replaced and taken a lot of stores out of business. For example, Circuit City, The Good Guys, and even K-mart have gone out of business - or reduced their stores - as a result of online stores taking up the turf. The questions to answer (in 200 words or more): What do you prefer? Online or Brick-and-Mortar? Why? What advantages does each have over the others?

- I personally perfer to shop in a Brick-and-Motar store because I can compare product prices easier than online. I beleieve it's better because you actually have the feeling that you are shopping and online you are just in a computer. In online shopping, they might be websites that are fake and steal money; however, in a Brick-and-Motar store you are 100% garuanteed that you are getting your product and your not going to be robbed. In a Brick-and-motar store you can you can actually hold the product you are going to buy,not like the online stores where they show you only pictures.
-The difference between a Brick-and-Motar store and online stores is that in online store you can be manipulated to buy a product where the website might be fake and your credit card information might be stolen. In a Brick-and-Motar store threre is less percent chances to get your informtion stolen and ofcourse they give you a recipt where you know how much your product was, so your money wont be stolen. In online stores you dont have employes to help you out, but you do have reviews;morover, some reviews are paid conlcuding that they are false reviews. Sometimes online stores can turn out to be more expensive because its the products price plus the shipping. Compariong to a Brick-and-Motar store your product might turn out to be cheaper. In contrast, if you are a busy person and dont have time to shop, an online store is better for you because of your time management. I personally beleieve that online stores is just another "enhanced" technological way of being lazy. Your laziness is causing stores to close down,  employees to be fired, famalies with hunger!

When you buy a product, who "owns" the product? Is it the company who created the product or is it the purchaser? The reason this is asked is that for most products, the purchaser owns it. However, for electronic devices, it is usually difficult to tell. For example, a DVD may not be copied, even though you bought the disc itself. Or, if you buy a video game console, you are prohibited from hacking or modding it by law.

-When buying a product the owner owns it because they bought it with their own money; moreover, some products are not own by the pwerson who buys the product because the copyright sign means it cannot be modified or copied. Depending on the kind of product you buy, it is the owners or you either have possesion of it. Offcourse, artists make music and people buy their discs, in order for artists to make money they need to have a copyright sign because the artists created the songs and a person buying them can just own them. It just means that they are allowed to listen to their music because that how artists make a living. Other products like a bar of Dove soap the owners own that because they bought it and its a product that cant really be reamade, for example a song, game, or a movie can be easily be remade so they have to have copyright laws. Those laws help protect the burning and reselling, and some kind of copying the original piece. A bar of soap cant be copied and resold. Depending on what you are buying, it menas that you are the real owner of it or not. If you buy food it your , but if you buy a dvd it is not because a company made it and it is only for entertaintement purposes. You did not write the script or paid actors to do a movie, but you did pay a price to buy cheese, a cheese that cant be easily remade and sold.

How do you expect semester two to be different? the same? What will you do to improve on yourself to prove that you deserve a passing grade?

- For †his semester my goals are to turn all my assignments on time and be on task in this class and all my classes. For the previous semester I would arrive to school tardy and I want to change that by getting up earlier in the morning and finishing my homework earlier than before. Last semester I would finish my homework like at 2 and sometimes at 3AM , I want to get more sleep and be more active because I know that if I obtain more sleep than I can be early too school and be on task in all of my classes. Last semester I did receive a passing grade, what I need to work on is at arriving to school on time. The thing that I would do the same this semester is to keep doing my work and getting good grades on them, but I also want to try my best to do the best in my assignments.
